Under the Global Environmental Facility’s (GEF) 6th Replenishment Cycle Funding, GEF has launched a new Parent Program to address Climate Change, Global Sustainable Cities Integrated Approach Pilot (IAP) in September 2014. In November 2014, MIGHT in collaboration with UNIDO, submitted a proposal for such project area to GEF for consideration.
As the GEF country contact point, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), issued the Letter of Endorsement to GEF dated 26 May 2015. Subsequently, GEF approved the selection of Malaysia as one of the 11 countries to go under this Parent Program.
On 29 May 2015, GEF issued the Letter of Approval to Malaysia via UNIDO to carry out Project Preparation Grant (PPG). This PPG is to develop project implementation details including budget for submission to GEF by June 2016. The funding will be disbursed by September episode hack 2016 for implementation of this 5 year project.
On 8 September 2015, UNIDO issued an invitation letter to MIGHT to attend the 1st Consultative Committee Meeting for the Sustainable Cities Integrated Approach Pilot (IAP) in Paris from 6 to 10 September 2015.
